Kaydence Speaks On The Current State Of The Music Industry, James Fauntleroy + 2Pac Being Influences

MikeTrampe: State your name.

Kaydence: Kaydence

MikeTrampe: Where are you from?

Kaydence: Queens, NY

MikeTrampe: How would you describe your music?

Kaydence: Conceptual Urban Pop, Trip Hop & Hip Hop.

MikeTrampe: Who are your musical influences?

Kaydence: James Fauntleroy, Tupac, Jon Gibson, Citizen Cope & John Mayer.

MikeTrampe: How do you feel about the music industry as a whole right now?

Kaydence: I feel like it’s a mess right now. Talent is no longer the main focus, it’s the gimmicks and what is trending. It’s about how many followers you have, rather than how good your album is.

MikeTrampe: Where do you see your music career in 5 years?

Kaydence: I see myself fully established as a songwriter or artist. Whichever comes first is fine by me. I love what I do. As long as the message gets across to the listeners and I can help someone with my lyrics, it doesn’t matter who sings it.

MikeTrampe: If you could only bring one album to a deserted island, what album would you bring?

Kaydence: It would have to be John Mayer’s Continuum. The songwriting on that album is amazing. The concepts, the emotion. How relatable it is.

MikeTrampe: If you could open for any artist living or dead, who would it be and why?

Kaydence: I’d have to say Rihanna. Just because of her energy and vibe on stage. I went to her Anti concert in Brooklyn and It was such an amazing show.

MikeTrampe: If you could create a super-group with 2 other artists and one producer, who would you pick?

Kaydence: It would have to be James Fauntleroy and Ryan Leslie. Ryan is an Amazing producer as is… but if I had to pick one, I’d say 40. He’s one of the best producers to date. I couldn’t even imagine how that would sound altogether [Laughs].

MikeTrampe: Any last shout out’s or comments?

Kaydence: Special shout to my family i-standard, and my home team Anothr Breed. My family and friends are a huge support and I’m so thankful they believe in my dream just as much as I do.
